After all the delivery and packaging hoo ha, our little baby, missie and master gnot hairbrushes look so at home in Selfridges. Here they are beautifully positioned for their debut in the kids section, on the fourth floor. We were so lucky that we were by the escalator, so we had a lot of curious people as soon as they “landed”. Both of us were there for their first day, which also happened to be an event day to showcase the kids section.
We stayed for a few hours to see how people would react and of course to hear some feedback. It’s not everyday that you launch in Selfridges! We certainly made use of our time there -we met the lovely Valerie from Shea Mooti and Fleur from Belle Enfant. We got to sell our very first hairbrush which was very exciting – may not sound thrilling on paper, but on the day, it was the ultimate high. We went on to sell more and spoke to some savvy shoppers, which was brilliant, nerve racking and satisfying at the same time. You have to be brave when you put a product out in the marketplace….hearing positive comments and actually seeing sales eases the nerves immensely.
One family that bought missie gnot were on holiday from France, so if you are reading this, we’d love to know how you are getting on with missie gnot. Both your daughters’ hair looked amazing after they brushed it on the day, so we’d love to hear from you!
At the end of the event, there was actually a poignant moment. All we had to do was go. Not collect the hairbrushes and take them home, not pack up the stand, nothing….just go. So baby gnot, missie gnot and master gnot had found a home in Selfridges and we felt immensely proud to see them holding their own amongst some of the biggest brands in the world!#
